Institutions are about principles . . .

"Institutions are about principles and the systems it has set up for its continued existence not individuals who created them."

Does this beg the question.....Are institutions people/individuals???? Kinda like.....Corporations Are People!!!!!!

The institutional modal of non-profits guiding principles are the same as for-profit corporations....

Below is the value system that guided ACLA’s continued existence....admittedly these principles may be responsible for the current challenges the face the future of the sites ....

So ACLA is looking to expand on the status quo of leadership structure with a Coalition of public and private representatives of the

1. The process of community building utilizing art and culture is a very organic living system. ACLA is built on the principles of inclusion, responsiveness to multiple publics and their needs, shared accountability for community through reciprocal collaboration and the necessity to teach and sustain these values for subsequent generations.

2. Systems were developed, implemented and supported for years when there was a larger staff to assign, without adequate financial resources many of the institutional obligations were neglected and subsequent challenges to the leadership occurred.

3. Now ACLA seeks to reinvent itself structurally as a formalized Coalition; the overarching organizational leadership obligations will be assumed, assigned and shared by the partners utilizing the sites. The collective managerial infrastructure can facilitate the creation of a new board of directors to share the responsibility of fundraising.
